Saturday 27th April. A sortie in to The Orwell on Bill Hughes Starlight 35 ‘Livia’ from SYH. Then hail and hail. Like little air gun pellets and plenty. Then Under Sail coming out of The Stour we was a ‘carved up’ by a Sailing School boat under engine ONLY heading in to Shotley. ‘Whose that XXXX?’ said Bill as a cheerful voice ‘Hello Bill!’ reached us across the water from the offending ship. Mutterings from Commander Bill as to who this offensive fellow might be ……….
What a day that was, the hail was awesome, it was like being sand blasted.. I laughed my socks off when I later learned that it was Admiral Bush skippering the offending boat 🙂
Unbelievable. Probably making his tenth cup of tea of the day!
